Shorty 4 - a decent budget canti brake?

Hi
My LBS has suggested this as a decent, lowish price canti brake to use on my new cyclocross frame. I'll be primarily using it as a daily hack, for general trails but also potentially doing some light touring. I know I'm not going to get fantastic stopping power at that budget but just want to check it's a decent enough starting point.
Any views?
Thanks

It's an Uncle John with this fork: http://www.planet-x-bikes.co.uk/i/q/FOP ... cross-fork
Assumed I could only use cantis - used to road bikes, and know bugger all about their muddier brothers0 -
Your brake levers are probably designed to be used with cantis.
Once set up properly, Vs really aren't any stronger than cantis - all about leverage ratios.0
