Lance's arms look skinny; I think last year's weight has come off. Nothing better than a bit of starvation to get you up the climbs.
Could have been a dangerous stage but neutralised for tomorrow. I thought the stage had a bit of potential but it flopped a bit. Cunego not on his game either (always seems to lack something in the Tour a bit like Simoni used to).
Wiggins looked tired but schleck jnr looked pretty ok; hmmm...
Nice bit of PJ Harvey on the end titles.

    did wiggo look tired?

missed that what I saw looked ok... you could be right only saw him a couple of times

He was eyeing the jersey in the reflection and it was likely one of the best chances he will ever get to take it other than after a prologue.

By the way you can see Horner's data here if that sort of thing interests you:

I really do find some of FF's comments bizarre. Mr Hincapie has riden what ?? 10 TDF ?? Been in the winning team for 8 of them ?? He's wearing the USA national champions jersey in probably his last tour, and some opionated twerp who probably couldn't do a 25 inside an hour calls him "useless".

Lol, poor one there. Hincapie went downhill fast, Contador went up. Nuff said.

But lol's aside. All of Contadors grand tour wins have been under the direction of the Hog. You do realise this, don't you?

Missing the point again. Do you still contend Discovery were dirty?

Certainly. He couldn't decide who ran his team until now. And if he wins the Tour this year then what will you say then. And any GTs after that.

Also that is a tenuous link to draw...are we to assume all Grand Tour winners who have won under a DS associated with doping that they were doping. In addition they didn't get on at all for at least some of the time Contador was winning, to the extent that Bruyneel wasn't even turning up at his races (eg/. PN09) for example.

Bruyneel just tweeted that the Radioshack bus has been stuck on the side of a mountain for the past hour. Just saying...

Que? When Disco folded, he followed Bruyneel to Astana.

Ahh another lightweight. Another that resorts to personal insults and tries to mention my performance in cycling when they know nothing about me.

As for Hincapie, he was pretty amazing when he was with Disco then look at him in climbs in following years - you will note he is a shadow of his former self.

No further comment you people are not worth it.

If you'd have said "Big George didn't have a good day, probably past his best", I wouldn't have said anything, but to call him useless ????!!!!

And,,,,,,, and,,,, I know thing about your cycling ability, George is riding his 10th Tour, you'll never ride one.

You mean when he went to a clean team? Well, that's to be expected, isn't it?

    Have a read of this

Why do you fight this "Contador is clean" position so much?

I don't 'fight' 'Contador is clean' at all. I simply follow the same logic as most other riders - innocent until proven guilty by severe implication or failed test.

Hincapie is riding his 15th Tour. Not tenth. Just fyi.

How silly to compare a fan's abilities to that of a professional cyclist...............

Well of course he isn't useless in the total sense of the word. There is no need to take things so literally, so to the letter.

So you think he should have ridden the same way in support for Mark Cavendish as he did for Lance Armstrong? I'm sure Cav would have appreciated a high pace on the lower slopes.

He was widely praised for his work at Colombia, and he's done well in a couple of classics this season. Let's not write him off after one stage, where we don't know what his job was.

Andy Schleck said that Contador will want to show that he is here tomorrow and attack. He also said that he was expecting Cadel to take the jersey but that his team didn't work too much. It was a lot harder than he expected.

Joke or not calling hincapie useless especially since leaving discovery is simply childish. Even more so when at 15km to go it was the "useless" big George on the front of the main group setting. The pace with Evans contador Armstrong and schleck on his wheel.

    Ridiculous comment.

I would have thought Contador won the TDF 2009 completely without Bruyneels help.
Bruyneel was more interested in his own Guest rider than the Team Leader the Sponsor paid him for.

Sorry guys, I'm not following the "Hincapie" is useless thread here. Weren't we all slagging off BMC for not supporting Evans enough? And didn't we see Ballan and Hincapie at the front of the peloton doing work today? I'm sure that Harmon was saying that George went up and did a big pull at Cadel's instigation and after that he had a drop back. And isn't that the point - that he is no longer a GC rider, rather he is there to help Cadel?

So was it confirmed if Geraint punctured yesterday? Maybe EBH blew as a result of helping him get back? It's shame he didn't hold on for another km as Astana lifted off the pace shortly after he went out the back.

Photos on the Team Sky site claim so. He also said his legs were like jelly and he popped on ITV4
