Hi, at the moment I have flat handle bars on my 2009 Scott scale 70 but would like to get riser bars. There is so much information on the internet that is confusing.

What effect on the characteristics be when riding depending on how much rise? Also what are some great lower priced riser handlebars?

Do you feel the need for a higher front end? This is all they do, put your hands in a higher position, which can be achieved with other methods too. Some have more backsweep though.

The higher position will take a little weight of your hands and promote a more upright riding position, and wider bars will add some stability.

A higher rise stem for instance, you may have headset spacers you can swap around.

Backsweep is how the bar bends back towards you. Almost all bars have it to some degree, but riser bars tend to have a little more. Is personal preference for comfort.
