Silverstone Sportive.. Shafted or Unlucky????

I did the VOTWO Specilized Silverstone Sportive last weekend and had a great time, the orginisation was great (although feedstations with toilets would have been nice), signage 1st class. One thing has put a bit of a downer on the event, it may sound petty but it winding me up now, £30 is quite a bit for an event, the Magnificat was similar money and I could not fault it in anyway, excellent value. I appreciate that hireing Silverstone is not cheap and would contribute to a big chunk of the money, as was the promise of a great goody bag with a tee shirt, a copy of Cycle Sport and Active, inner tube, energy stuff as well as other things. When I finished I was told they had no medium tee shirts and were trying to get some more, when I got home the only things in my bag were some mousturiser, a can of energy drink, 1 bar and a Specilized catalouge plus some flyers for other events.

I have e-mailed VOTwo twice and filled out the customer survey completing the bit that asked if I would like them to contact me to discuss my feedback and have heard nothing. I appreciated that things can go wrong but to seek feedback and not respond to it is just rude. As I say it more the principle now.

What you received seems to be par for the course. I've done events where all finishers got a water bottle, and in the bikely and running things I've done the medium shirts go the quickest.

Having said that I've never paid 30 squid for the privilege and I thinkyou're right to be P*ssed off.

£30 is a lot but I felt I got my money's worth at the Magnificat, and I understand that the Blenhiem Palace one is similar money but still good value. I just think that, if they have promised something when you sign up, they should make sure they have enough to go round, its not like they did not know how many people would turn up.
Send then another mail last night, will keep going till I get a reply.

I emailed VOTWO before the event with pertinent questions about the route and fed stations etc and in 10 days heard sod all. Dont seem a very customer service oriented company to me. I also thought it less than good value and I got a t-shirt...
