Looks good, I reckon the red rims are over kill though, get yourself some lighter, less coloured wheels and drop a chunk of weight.

Good tyre/valve alignment, well done. Stem faceplate fail.

    What's the remaining 10% though!?

Exactly what you said about wheels. Looking at some Mavics probably the crossmax range of XC (NOT SLR tho!) these red were from my old bike so just there whilst saving up for new rims. Hopefully with some lighter rims should get it down to 23 - 24lbs. It all helps, my daily commute is a bitch lots of hills!

    Cheers

I'd hand build, you'll get something lighter and more reliable than Crossmax for less money.

They're the benchmark really, unless you're spending a lot more you'll struggle to find a better option.

So maybe look into some Hope Pro 2 hubs with decent rims then. Ideally I want to spend £200 - £300 and get a strong wheelset at under 2kg for the pair.

Stem plate good spot! - How'du not spot that builder!

Tyre/value alignment - I prefer the rim stickers and tyre motif alignment... Although those wheels do look like they are 180 deg different which mine aren't.

Hope Hoops on ZTR Crest rims, £260 at CRC and c1700g IIRC.
