We organsied one at Nant BH Outdoor Pursuit centre, Gwydyr Forest, few years back.
    1. Guided rides thro the Marin, bike/helmet/guide supplied.

    2. Indoor lectures on cycle safety.

    3. Mechanics demos.

    4. Skills/drill demo and competition.

    5. Demo of new and prototype bikes.

All for FREE, Organised by Kim Burnham/Leo Sheltinga, Forestry Comm. Neil Pringle, SCW.
Nant BH staff, Marin Bikes. West End Cycles. Beics Betws.
And me, representing the Welsh Cycling Union, at that time.

Great venue, brilliant weather, fantastic but very long day !!!

Somewhere a bit more central than Kent would have been appreciated. Not that I could make it this year anyway.

how about the royal welsh show ground in builth? that'd be a good venue :D

ERM...No! Builth is nowhere near 1/2 way into Wales!

Us Gogs have to drive/travel 2/3rds of the way whilst the "Oh, wos occuring?" Barry Boys and Girls, and the Kaaaaiiiirdifff crew have about an hours plus drive.

Wots wrong with Coed y Brenin/Dolgellau, Dol for the event at the huge field near the river, CYB for the rides/tests etc?

yes the royal welsh in builth would be good to about three and a half hrs from north, what about aberystwyth anywere big there.

if there is a big place in dolgellau that would do anywere central or more or less.i think it would be brilliant.

The place in Dolgellau where they used to hold the "Sessiwn Fawr" would work.

What about Llangollen? Easy access from M6 for North and South travellers and a purpose built show ground.

llangollen is another good sugestion.plenty of places to hold a bike show.they hold a motorcycle show at mona show ground in anglsey,so why not a bike show.

Mona even has a massive hall, you could easily build a 4x track, or a set of dirt jumps in there.

yes there is bags of room at mona,im just puzzled with soo many cyclist in wales why there hasnt been a big bike show hear.

Not fussed about it being in Wales, really, but KENT? Seriously?

i remember when it was at the nec, that wasn't too bad. but it would be good to go and test some bikes on some 'proper' trails and for it to be somewhere more central for everyone.

llangollen isn't a bad shout i quite like the town but that's still about a 3 hour drive for us from south wales , it'd be quicker to get to cannock i think.

ive been to the motorcycle show in the nec,but no bike shows,so many ppl on hear say there going to wales cycling,so why not a show hear.

ok so its South not North, but Margam Park (in between afan & cwmcarn) would be a very good place to to bike radar live 2011 - very close to m4 (like 1 min away!) as well as having massive space for tents/marquee's etc, good size car parks and their are already trails there! ....and its walkable from my house ;p hehe

Margam Ark is another good call. But still not very central though.
What about the Vaynol Estate when they had the Big weekend? That would be an awesome venue.
  • NEC isnt a bad call but what about Donington Park, surely another race circuit would be ideal for the roadies(only as they have to be there) and there is plenty of land i'm sure they could scuplt some off road courses out of.
    4 wheels bad
    2 wheels good
    1 wheel for fun
