I looked on their web page & it states 1300g in the description & 1200g a bit further down, neither of which are stunningly light.
Where did you hear that is going to be 1000g ? I'd consider one if that is the true weight. If it turns out it's 1200/1300g then the Ebay no named ones are about that weight & a lot cheaper than £500.

That Scale does look nice though but it's gotta be crazy money like the Cannondale.

I love that Scott have shown you how they have achieved what they have, and took you through the frame. I wish more would put in a bit of time to do that.

Of course, most claims are for the very smallest models lol.

Aye, the Whippet is a bit porky, I'd have another eBay special instead no doubt.

The Scales are all gonna be <899g at least, any more and it'll be a cheaper model, it's how they've always worked, so whilst the 30/20/10/RC/Ltd are technically the same frame, the more expensive ones are the lightest.

I was a bit disappointed when I saw the new On-One whippet. I have a Scandal and was thinking of upgrading to Carbon. The Scandal is about 3.4lbs, and at 1300g the Whippet is about 2.86 lbs, so only really 1/2 a pound lighter than the Scandal.
Also, the seatpost is a different size, meaning I would have to invest in a new post and clamp.

Ach, I think I wil wait until the Scandal breaks before committing....

Incidently, another thing I dont like about the Scandal is there is only 1 set of bottle bosses, not ideal for enduros. Will be interesting to see if the Whippet had 2.

I used to have a '05 model carbon Scale. Lovely frame, and very light, but a bit too frisky for me and I had a few tumbles. This could probably be down to pilot error, but I find the Scandal to be a more forgiving ride, and I have had far fewer offs.

Just goes to show that weight isnt everything...

Do you crash less because you're going more slowly though?

It will probably be pretty skittish, but that's to be expected frankly!

I dont think so, Njee. The Scale just had more of an unpredictability about it.

The Flash is gorgeous, but I just can't make myself like the lefty, just seems wrong to me?
