Why now the reservoirs around Belmont/Rivington have be v/low and some almost empty as for months .as I've notice from my regular training rides in the area

So why a hosepipe ban now and not months ago when the signs were there

Im on a meter and very sparing with my use of water..always have showers[not baths] have water butts on my down spouts to use on the garden...I do use a hosepipe but with a fine sprinkle rose..even use washing waste on the flower beds.....I only use a fine spray when cleaning the car...and use far less than having to throw 2-3 buckets of water over to clear the washing fluid off...I pay for every drop that goes through my meter so I'll use it as I have done SPARINGLY

Can I fill my watering can from my hosepipe reel :x

My parents don't have a water meter, I was watering the garden for about an hour last night.

I'd advise to get one...I pay a 3rd less than before the meter

We were discussing this today...something to do with legislation requiring that reservoirs either have to but up 1.75 metre fences round the whole water....or reduce the water level by the same amount.....

so the reservoirs hold less water.....then we have a dry summer....and hey presto...not enough water to go round...

coupled with new legislative requirements fro taking water out of natural lakes/lochs and rivers...

there is talk of them taking some out of windermere at t moment...

I have no idea how much i pay for water...it comes as one bill along with council tax.

I wonder if Bolton Council will have their fancy fountains running? I've always been careful with water and p*ss on my plants to keep them damp, the neighbours aren't too keen though - and I have to be careful around the rose bushes.

My parents got a meter and ended up paying more. It's not as though they use a lot of water either.

Yeah water meters are great.. until you start paying for someone elses water cos they're plumbed in wrong.. Spent days looking for the "leak". found out the meter wasn't on my supply, and had been paying for neighbours water usage.

What's your bill (in £) now you're metered?

I'm paying around £75 a quarter for my water. I'm not on a metre.

Oi, I need to use two hands! One to hold the microscope and the other to use the tweezers!
