Ok, guys, can anyone say which of these has the lowest rolling resistance?...
Going to use one of them for racing.

I have used both subsequently on the same bike and really can't tell the difference in rolling resistance over my usual route...
I have kept the 4000S on the bike as they appear more durable.0 -

There is a link here which includes RR of the predecessors to both models (PR2, and GP3000):

Click through to see the source. I don't know how respected this test procedure was, so I wouldn't stand behind it yet; until then... of your two, I'd get the Michelins; of any, Vittoria.0 -
I did read a very thorough test of tyres in a german mag a couple of years back. the GP4000s won and based on 4 years experience with them - I'd not use any others.0

For what it worth. I've had both and my preference is for the Michelin. The Continental's are the only tires I have ever used that had side wall failures. Weird thing about it was the bike was resting against the wall both times after coming in from a ride.0

Pro Races, 2s and 3s, 2s imo better than 3s ......0

Have changed from PR3's to Ultremo R1 for racing - at first because they were cheaper - now I think I prefer them.0

a friend of a friend who is a UK pro said that the pro 3s were the best clincher tyres about.0

Gp4000 are a nice tyre -very grippy and great in the wet, BUT the tyre compound micro cuts pretty easily. Also the last set I used, neither of them lasted long enough to wear out as they both developed large bulges where the carcase had separated. Never had any problems with pr2, pr3 or krylions. Michelins seem more puncture resistant and more durable.0

Jermans, not looking for an arguement, but genuinely having used both i found compeletely the opposite, my Gp4000S appear far more durable than my Pro 3's which seem to cut up more easily.
I did 200 miles on the Mich and took them off, 700 miles on the Gp4000S and they look better than the Michelins.
Interesting, that even when we all compare our personal experiences, there is no definitive answer!0 -
i tend to use gp4000s for training (especially at hedge cutting time) and in the winter. I find these much more puncture resistant than the Pro 3s.
however, the Pro 3s are much much quicker imo and i only ever race with these.
guess everyone is different and only way you'll know is by trying both0 -
Pro 3 for me. Have this set on for over a year now and could prob do with been changed in the next few weeks but still look great, roll super and dare I say it no P for over a year. Am thinking I shouldnt have included that last bit. It might get some funds released for a new set if the unspeakable does happen.0

After sliding GP4000s around my local crit circuit and having a 'hairy' moment in the Ardennes, I have much more confidence in ProRace3s.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0

More or less confirms my thoughts...
I do have both sets of tyres, and thought the PR3's were faster, but couldn't be sure... Maybe I was having a stronger ride!?...
I'll put a PR3 on for next time...
Gotta be faster than the Gatorskin I used last!Start with a budget, finish with a mortgage!0 -
What about schwalbe ultremos or is that just opening up another arguement.0
