New Tyres for AM \ XC

Hi,
I'm getting ready for a MTB Holiday and wanted to try some new tyres. I'm currently using Panaracer Fire XC but have been itching to try a new front rear combo.
I think I've decided on the rear, it's a choice of either the Maxxis Ignitor 60a or the Crossmark 60a.
The front is a bit of prob,
I'm hearing people rave about the Minnion as a front, not sure if it would be too much for my XC needs.
I've ruled out Nobby Nics thin side wall horror stories have put me off
Many thanks

I also "coughed" when I saw £42 however, i didn't state a budget and I'll correct that Budget is £65 the pair.
Cheers for the input though

Try a Maxxis Ardent on the front, I`ve just switched to these and they`re a great all rounderIt`s changed a bit since...
2010 Zesty 3140 -
try the rampage/razer mx
if you're worried about the sidewall then get the PR versions.0 -
Nevegal's are great allrounders...ok not the fastest of rolling but at £30 posted a pair for 2.1 foldng from On One...they will do the job fine.
I cannot justify paying similar money for a bike tyre for that of a car !!0 -
+1 for the nevegal....dont feel any rolling resistance on the front but do feel its grip, these puppys dont wash out easily.
I have nevegal on front and michelin hard terrain on back.Unlike my credit card im currently carrying a low level of interest- Peter Griffin

Minion's a great trail tyre, Maxxis don't know what they're doing tbh, "DH" my ass. Probably a completely rubbish DH tyre, too small and singleply but it's mint for harder trail use.
Or Nevegals, I always say that, 2.35 DTC or Stick-e up front, 2.1 or 2.35 DTC in the back. 2.35 Stick-e is a bit slow but sticks like spunk to a duvet.Uncompromising extremist0
