I've got the R1. I don't know what the exact differances are between the R1 & R2 but I'd imagine them to be small & the two to ride alike.

The first thing is the weight or lack of. The framesets weigh nothing! When I picked it up I was stunned. Mega, mega light!

Next up is the comfort. This is a personal thing but I've never had a twinge on it. Longest ride has been 125miles & it lapped it up. Some folks say they're to racy, I guess they are but I have always found it to be spot on.

They feel like a quality item too. I had a Focus Izalco frame before the R1 & this thing feels/looks better made. Not easy to put your finger on but when both were side by side you could tell. "Attention to detail" things!

Mine is built up with SRAM Red, it runs on either Kysrium SL's or 404's, ride quality is excellent with both. Don't know what it weighs but at a recent race a guy picked it up & said " that's cheating".

If I wrecked this one I'd buy another, no question.

Just had a quick look on the Scott Website. The R2 has an integrated seatpost and is heavier than the R1

wow - light frames - so let me get this right, the R1,R2 and R3 are all sub 900gram for frame, forks and headset?

My friend has recently purchased an R3 addict and he thinks its great.I too think its great and far too light!

No that's the weight of the frame. The weight of the forks is down in the spec part on the right hand side.

ah gotcha, so R2/R3 are 1280 for f+f

Still 500gm lighter than my current ride!

What are these like to ride?
I lifted up an addict R1 in a bike store last week, I couldn't believe how light it was.
The chap working at the LBS suggested they were very stiff and quite jarring compared to other CF frames, is that the case?

They are stiff & very responsive...is this a bad thing? They are designed as a race bike, no question about that but I use mine for everything from March to October. I race on it, train, commute & do the odd Sportive.

I've no complaints at all regarding ride comfort. This is entirely a personal opinion, were all differant. A CR1 is the more relaxed cousin of the Addict range & a mate of mine has one of those, he loves it.

You're not likely to shake yr fillings loose if you bought one.

Give Westbrook Cycles a try. They are pretty good when it comes to pricing Scotts.
