I might do Rutland this week. I frequently do Dalby Red Route and I know Rutland is mainly flat is it?

Is it worth doing for a 'nice' ride ? and where do I head to to start?

Done a search & found nothing
Thanks all

Do you mean Rutland Water or the (small) county of Rutland in general?

Rutland Water is a fairly easy ride as its surfaced (not necessarily tarmac) round the 26ish mile loop. Can get a bit windy in places. You can take about 7 miles off if you don't go round the peninsula.

    Sorry, I menat Rutland Water.........

In the end I decided to go to Sherwood Pines, and what a total waste of time & effort that was! Dalby is quite a lot further to drive for me, but well worth the extra mileage. I really didn't enjoy Sherwood at all. The Red route is more of a Blue. Very disappointed, but these things have to be tried.

Well lets just say you will be really happy you didn't go to Rutland Water then! Its standard double track hard pack around a reservoir, a vast difference between Sherwood, let alone Dalby :)

Where are you traveling from to go to Dalby? If your going past the Peak district your missing out on some rides that no trail center will offer you.

I'm in Louth Lincs, so over the bride & up to Dalby......

I'll give Rutland Water a miss also.

I need to start looking around Peaks I think.

This. It will give you a completely different experience to trail centre riding if thats what your used to. An absolutely stunning part of the country to boot also! Plenty of route options and many of them are documented well - although a very popular area, it never seems too busy.

Research intended...... I've done Ladybower Reservioir area in the past which we enjoyed actually. Good rocky technical stuff with a few fast runs thrown in!
