In line with the SID World Cup XX, not surprising. Makes the Reba World Cup which retailed for £500 in 2007 look a bit of a steal though!

its almost as if the manufacturers are making prices so ridiculous for the top end stuff that they are hoping we will be fooled into thinking that the lower spec stuff is from bargainsville, which it isnt.

What are they to replace though? Does the 'Sektor' replace the Tora?

For the 3rd year running. It's a shame, but arguably prices had been held low for a long time, we're now paying the price for that!

Sektors are a sort of all round longer travel fork for the lower but not budget market, I think.

Sektor would have been called the Trail Recon, but they called it Sektor to make everyone think it is new and better.

Sektors seem a good price, but its a crap name IMHO

Well, a lower price and less adjustable Revelation, which is what the Recon was.

Ah right, I see, any ideas how much the solo air u turn version is? Just googled it there, nice looking fork actually, nice to see they've allowed some of the higher-performance on a lower budget bike.

i think ill go for the rev rtl ti 15mm at a nice discounted price 8)

might ask the folks at ibis to give me a mojo with no shock and put on a monarch on it, have to say i prefer them to fox now, way cheaper, more adjustable and 95% as good :D

£579.99 for the rev mentioned above, and monarch shocks range from £219.99 - £248.99.

equilivant fox float is £739 and rp23 shock is £349. so the fork is an extra £160 and shock is an extra £100, so why arent more complete bikes coming with rockshox front and rear? the performance is barely different and some reckon the monarch is almost as good as the CB DB coil shock downhill

Fox still have the 'name' and manufacturers know by sticking a basic fox it in might sell more, and makes the bike look better value.

The sektor doesn't seem to be as "budget" as rockshox made it out to be....

Just noticed all the carbon steer revelations are running the new 15mm maxle. I wanted to keep the 20mm one and have a carbon steer and crown.
  • I assumed Fox make more money by selling their forks cheap to manufacturers to get exposure/free marketing etc, sell a shed load, so hike the prices for the forks on their own because they're not that arsed about selling the forks aftermarket. Plus people still seem to be buying them!

Merlin have a spectacular deal on the race for less than £300. I think it's out of stock at the moment though.
