Tyres - which way?

How do I know which way the Continental Speed King tyres should face on my Carrera Fury. When I bought the bike, Halfords set up the tyres on the front and back wheels in opposite directions so I guess one wheel is right and the other is wrong... but it's not at all obvious to me which one I need to change.

  • they can be different for front and rear... even if the tyre is the same.

The speed kings are the same on my dads and thats the way they should be methinks!

It's quite common to see tyres put on the "wrong" way round.
Some people use a front tyre on the rear, but slip it so it rotates the other way, because, generally speaking...
A ftont tyre is designed to give braking grip
A rear tyre is designed to give accelerative grip.

Yup, it's worth shuffling them and seeing what happens. Some manufacturers recommend to run the tyres in opposite directions, like on panaracer fire XCs, for example. I assume they do put some though into this! But it doesn't have to mean that it's the best way for you, even if it's all round the best option.

If a tyre is drectional then its normally embosed on the sidewall
