Just a heads up that the deadline for entries is this friday 09/07.

The dissenter is every human being at those moments of his life when he resigns
momentarily from the herd and thinks for himself.

How? The sportive is only in its second year this year, last year (2009) the sportive distance of 90 (though it's more like 85) miles was introduced. Prior to 2009 the event was marketed as a charity event.

On the web-site linked to from above:

Sportive Liverpool Chester Liverpool (90 miles) £23.50 £85.50

So why would you not do the ride again as a matter of interest? I probably won't be doing it, I did the Sportive last year and there wasn't much to show for the 20 odd quid it cost to enter (but I'm not a fan of organised rides in general).

I'll be returning from the Alps on the Saturday so will probably be knackered (from the driving), I'll probably be spending Sunday in the pub :)

It was just kaos, people jumping red lights and racing, people just deciding to stop in the road and almost running into them, and old people who spend more time falling off than riding.

On a positive note i did get a free t-shirt and two free waterbottles :)

Yep, there are a lot of novices on the ride that's for sure. And the start is directly into the Tunnel, it can be like human skittles in there
