Team kit season has started !!

Saw an awful lot of team lycra out on the road tonight, has the Tour started or something ?

Did the Ring of Kerry cycle on saturday. Saw nothing but Liquigas jerseys. Hundreds of the things and also hundreds of Giant bikes. The local dealers for both must be making a fortune.

Saw guy on sunday he had columbia htc shorts on, team sky gloves, a FDJ helmet and some team jersey which I couldn't make out.
Fair play to him though, if he likes them then he can wear what he wants!!!

Agree every ride I did over the weekend I saw more team kit than usual. And of course the obligatory yellow jersey wearer.

Normally wear trade jerseys when I'm commuting. Most recent one I've got is a US Postal one from around 2000 I think though. Favourite is a Peugoet one from Prendas - absolute classic.
Save my club kit for when I'm out riding at the weekends or after work for proper training rides.

I reckon if folk have bought a team jersey let them wear it - there's far more important things to worry about and is it really any different from football/rugby/cricket followers wearing their favourite team kit?

Helps keep the mrs busy with the washing wearing a clean jersey every ride as she doesn't like them lying about the house due to the smell

I recently got the highroad team kit from prendas for no other reason than the jersey and bib shorts were £40 for the lot!!! Seemed like too good a bargain to turn down. It's the 2008 kit, but I really don't care! It's bloody comfortable and gave me no problems over the 40 ride on Sunday. The bibs are better than other more expensive ones I've used in the past.

I'm not anti team kit, my view is wear what you like....... it just amuses me the number of people you see on the road in team kit increases at this time of the year. At least they're taking part in their sport, unlike the football kit clones out there

I like wearing my team jerseys and as i'm currently using the Astana one it means I can be seen my cars easier too

Prenda's had sold out of my size but I got a Sparebanken team kit - bib shorts and jersey for £60 from prendas - never heard of the team think they are norwegian but the price was good and the quality even better, did the Manc to Blackpool in them on Sunday and very happy.
