new riding spot south wales??
Hi,
I live on a farm in Abergavenny, South Wales. 15 years ago we planted up a large area of the farm with deciduous woodland. The trees are now at a good size and over the past 3 years we have held a number of motor bike races on the farm. Professionals race promoters have come in and cleared a number of tracks and paths through the woodland and now as a result we have some really good single track around the farm. it is a hill farm with about 600 ft fall and is pretty steep in spots. potentially there are a couple of really good downhill tracks which i imagine would take 2-3 mins from top to bottom and then a huge number of different x country trails as a result of the motor bike tracks. Now the land is dry I think there is great scope for some really good trail riding. There is also scope for creating a jump spot and even some dual slalom tracks if people are prepared to put the work in.
So what I am interested in finding out is if the farm is any good for riding and what potential there is to expand it and create a new centre which potentially could make a bit of cash and perhaps hold some events a couple of times a year. If anyone is keen to come up and have a ride round and see what they think they are more than welcome. we are situated between abergavenny and hereford on the way up to the dragon downhill site near the grwyne fawr resevoir in the black mountains. if people are planning on riding near by and fancy calling in for a look around that would be great. if you fancy coming here for the day and having a proper explore even better. Just drop me an email. I am gonna try and post this on a few forums but if any of you guys know any where that it should be posted please feel free to copy and paste.
My email is boybinz@aol.com please get in touch if you are interested.
cheers
