Hi,
Could anyone tell me if it's possible to change just the bearing in a Sram bottom bracket. Making helluva noise. Some play in it aswell.
Cheers,
Stevie.

I run Red...I use the cheapo GXP bb. £20, I'm on my 2nd in about 8k miles...1st one lasted 2 months, this ones been in since June last year with no probs.
Chris King do a replacement one now thankfully (I'm gonna treat myself whilst she's off the road thru winter). The concensus being that SRAM bb's are pretty poor.
I'm sure you could get the correct size of bearing but for £20 I'd be tempted to bin it or buy a Chris King.
Ps...my mate uses the ceramic GXP & he's none to impressed with that either.0 -

Have I never chimed in my 2p worth Scrumple?
The SRAM BBs are shocking. Mine needed replacing after about 500 miles. This one has done about 600 and is due for replacement. My Shimano ones last about 2000 miles.0 -
Thanks for the info guy's. Mines has lasted about 1200 miles and it's gubbed. My Specialzed roady has run well over 5k on the original Shimano BB! And it's as sooth as a chocolate fountain. Not to shabby!
