Two Minutes...

So, after my Result, I went to Thetford Forest yesterday and had a go at the Black Run. Its not really technical but all the tree roots etc make for a quite strenuous ride. I've been doing it for a couple of years now, every other weekend and slowly creeping my time down, timing from/to the same spot in the car park. My previous best time had been 43 mins 30 secs and I had known about it! Yesterday was really hot, so I was concious of over-doing it and although I hit the trail hard, I kept up an easy pace, which I sustained all through the run. Imagine my surprise when I found I had knocked 2 mins 10 secs off of my previous best!
So, was this down to the new forks and the 1lb weight saving or a more relaxed/paced approach or due to upping my daily road commute to 30 mins twice a day? I wasn't even breathless at the end of the run, despite that barsteward long slog up the sandy trail at the end.
Whatever it is, I was amazed and chuffed
