Hi all,

I am looking to purchase a bike on the cycle to work scheme, with limited choice and I will be looking to eventually take part in races/ triathlons and such.

I am looking to purchase Felt Z85 - and so far all reviews have been good. I would like to use this forum to ask 'expert' opinion on this bike and any good/ bad points would be much appreciated. As I am not the most knowledgable 'biker'

On my cycle to work scheme I will be paying overall £499 which seems really good value for this bike. Any feedback would be much appreciated!

Greg

I Have had a Felt Z85 and think its great so far but only done 200 miles on it, I upgraded a few things saddle, wheels, tyres & handel bars.

I will dig out some pictures of my bike.

I think you may find it hard to find any stock of the 2010 felt Z85? Here are a few images of mine, could do with a bit of a clean:

    http://www.superride.co.uk/photos/index.html

The first set of images "Felt Z85 001" show it from the shop with upgraded wheels for £70 to: Shimano RS20 Wheelset.

The second set of images show it with the brakes on the top removed "Felt Z85 Mod 002" and some basic upgrades:

3T ErgoNova Pro Alloy Road Handlebars
    Charge Spoon Saddle
    LifeLine Basic Bottle Cages
    Shimano PD-M520 Pedals
    Continental Ultra Gatorskin Folding Tyres

Felt bikes are generally well specced for the money. You need to sit on one though to make sure you'll be happy with it.

Just from another starter's perspective....make sure you get a compact chainset fitted (if there isn't one as standard). I've just bought a fantastic Specialized Tarmac Expert but can't get up the steep hills where I live (legs might be partly to blame I guess).

I can get up them fine on myother bike that has compact set
