What's the attraction?
For the pro's I mean.
It seems a number of individual riders who were dominant in their fields make the change to road riding rather than simply continuing to dominate. I'm thinking of Rasmussen and Evans, both former World MTB champions as I understand it, Lars Boom who has moved from dominance in cylocross to the Tour, Wiggins and Boardman going from track riding to road racing.... No doubt there are many more.
Is it that financially you are better off having ridden the tour, even when in some cases like Boardman's you never expected to finish or is it the fame?
