Stem advice

I want to change the stem on my boardman hybrid. At the moment it has a ritchey adjustable stem which I have brought up to nearly max height as I wanted the bars a bit nearer and a bit higher but it creaks a lot and has actually come loose a couple of time on particularly bumpy roads at speed. I`ve been looking at this http://www.evanscycles.com/products/ritchey/comp-30-degree-stem-ec021505?utm_source=froogle&utm_medium=froogle&utm_campaign=froogle to replace it with but not sure which length I should get. Would this be a good stem to get or has anyone got any other ideas how to raise the bars and bring them in a bit nearer

Get the length you already have, and measure the angle to get as close as possible.0

If you're happy with your riding position, find a stem with the same (or similar) length & rise as the one you're replacing... (stem length is measured centre-centre between the steerer/handlebar mounting points)...
in terms of price & quality, the Ritchey stem you've spotted at Evans will be fine, as long as there's a size that'll give you the desired riding position.
Or, if you have a decent LBS, pop in for some advice & the may have something you can try out for size.Earn Cashback @ Wiggle, CRC, Evans, AW Cycles, Alpine Bikes, ProBikeKit, Cycles UK :

Beware of creaking around alu parts, if it's the parts themselves they do this just before they snap.Bikes, saddles and stuff

The length is 90mm but it looks like I`ve got the angle coming up at 50degrees!! according to the markings on the adjustable stem. I don`t think I`m gonna find a fixed stem that brings it up that much, looks like I`ll have to learn to like it lower0

You could try higher rise bars too.0

There are 50 degree stems, just rare!
As SS says, you could achieve the same with a lower angle and more rise in the bars, but it will cost more probably!
Alternatively, you could use a good quality threadlock (I like bearing lock as its tough as old boots) on mating faces and on the bolt thread to stop your adjustable stem from working loose!
