upload gpx files to garmin 605

Hi,
i am trying to upload some customs maps i have converted from a kml files to a gpx map. | have uploaded them to the Garmin-GPX-Currant Folder.
With no luck, on the garmin when i go to saved rides i have no saved rides. Or if i go to history the rides i uploaded are not there
Any ideas most welcome as i wanted to ride one of the routes tommorow.
