I had a serious bout of hayfever last night, think the ride out in the sun really irritated by eyes.

Woke up at 4am with my eyes all gunked up, stuck together and sore. Twas really painful :(

So I need a pair of glasses.

I was some sporty type ones, but I want to be able to wear them day to day as well and I already have some bolle glasses.... just want something a bit more upmarket with better lenses.

i don't really know much about glasses as I've never really worn any. All I do know is that Oakley are supposed to be good but are expensive!

I'm not even sure where to look! Is there such a thing as a sunglasses shop?!

erm... Help?!

if you want oakleys, then you can specify exactly what you want on their website...

For dark, or winter riding though, I have some cheap endura ones with interchangeable lenses.

Doesnt sound like hayfever to me Benj sounds more like conjunctivitis.

Though yes whatever it is I would reccomend riding glasses I managed to get a branch in the eye once I was following a mate on an overgrown singlettrack he brushed a branch aside and it flicked back into my face Oww not fun continuing the ride with one eye shut.

I have these and they fit my melon head very nicely they are cheap but so far seem very sturdy. The yellow lense works well in low light and on normal days. For really bright sunlight I have a dark pair in the rucksack as well.

You can pick them up reduced on several websites from £135 upwards

Or new from sellers on ebay £100 upwards

Paid £120 for my retine burn jawbones on ebay from a shop seller

  • What drugs have you tried? Have you tried anti-histamines combined with eye drops?
  • Defoo sounds like conjunctivitis... done a bit of reading up :(

I take 2 antihistamines a day and have eye drops and nasal spray, so you could say i've got it pretty bad

has anyone used 720 Armour glasses? spec looks really good for the price.

I like the look of those ones, the adjustable nose system sounds great as i've broken my nose about 9 times in the past and now its wonkey

Been reading and the black with grey/silver should be good for daytime riding but could get different lenses as they swap out easily?

Opinions? as i'm hovering over the buy button :)
What benefit is a polarized lense over a normal lense btw?

Oakleys are good I have several pairs (pupil dilation problem) I like the fives models because they are so light and fit well, lenses are easy to change, if you want big wrap arounds them monster dog are pretty good and you can get a dark grey lense set for them (cheap and super dark 8) )

Why are MTB economics; spend twice as much as you intended, but only half as much as you wish you could afford?

Endura Stingray ? 4 sets of interchangable lenses and a bargain at £35.00..I have some and they are great !
Tomac Synper 140 Giant XTC Alliance 1
If the world was flat, I wouldn't be riding !
  • Also have the stingrays, bought them before my oakleys and in my opinion I prefer the oakleys mainly due to lense quality, however the endura are in no way bad I just find the oakleys better.

Best thing to do is try lots of different ones on ,borrow of friends etc and decide for yourself. :)
