Thanks for that Shep. Time well spent. I'd never heard of google before - is it new?
  • just effing google it, very helpful and mature response to someones reasonable request for information on a forum dedicated to the subject he is asking about.

Priase disquieting_museeuws for providing a link which does not appear anywhere near the top of the google search so sarcastically suggested by Shep.

Yes thank you very much Disquieting Museews - a good site.

I thought someone somewhere would have compiled a list of recent ascent times for all the major Tour / Giro climbs but even Shep's mastery of the internet hasn't revealed one.

Yeah, you'd have thought so. Must be a list somewhere?

Cyclismag do some analysis of ascent times. Ive done a bit of a search and i could only find a complete tour one from 2007 and some alps ones from 2009. There is a comparison with past tours on the 2007 tour

The links are in french which i dont speak but the names and numbers speak for themselves

EDIT: Pyrenees 2008 here. The text mentions the time of Riis up Hautacam in 1996.

It was more a comment on people's inability to actually research something themselves rather than have others do the hard work for them, maybe thats is a sentiment shared by other forumites and perhaps why the topic had been open for a while, with lots of views and no responses.

But hey its only an internet forum, don't take it soo seriously Kev, you might turn into a troll...

Maybe, like me, looked at the query, didn't know of anything and moved on. If I'd known of a site I would have posted it. Either way I wasn't bothered by the post. But that's just me, I try to be a nice guy rather than a bit of a knob.

Goes and hides under his bridge ;) (is that trolls or some other mythical creature?)

Each to their own then, it could just be no one else had a relevant site bookmarked and so did not feel the need to comment.

I was well pleased with 1:02 up the western side of the Aspin til I read that in Cyclismag.

I hate when people do this and, guess what, the answer is NOT in the results.
