Here is my 2009 Colnago CX-1 paint code ACRD.

I've had the frame since March, I've been dying to build it and it is finally done. This is the first phase really, the long term view is Di2 and ZIpp wheels. Until then I will have to make do

Man that's nice. Like the way you've done the bars and tape. How does it ride?

I've just been out on it for the first time. Believe everything you read and all of the hype, this bike is just stunning.

I don't think I've used anything so sure footed before it corners and descends beautifully, uphill it is equally as good. It climbs soooooo well!

I'm really pleased with the parts I've used, the stealth bars are not the lightest but are a worthwhile addition.

Well done D. Looking sharp!! Might need to organize another group ride soon so we can all show off our new bike bling!

(Di2 is a long-term goal of mine also, once I can find a place to sell that extra kidney!)

    Thanks Colin.

A grand day out sounds a great idea, will it just become a tarts fashion show?!

The difference between the Madone and CX-1 is massive, I'm guessing there is as big a difference between your Trek & your S3?

At the moment Di2 seems a pipe dream, I'm thinking I should sell my Sram Red groupset to partially fund the change.

When you find the place we can get cash for kidneys let me know, who needs two anyway?!

Yes- the difference between the S£ and Madone is striking. BOth good bikes, but the more ride my S3, the more I like it. Especially with the Zipps on and cruising at high speeds. It sprints much better than the Madone and handles the rough stuff very well.

I'm going to rebuild the Madone later this year and use it as a winter bike. It was my winter bike last year- it just was my ONLY bike :)

Spanielsson - lovely bike, what are you using it most for? Racing or general riding? I've read that the CX-1's a bit of a sprinters bike (so a racer) rather than an all purpose ride - how would you categorise it?

Have fun .... The more I see Colnago's the more I'm liking them!

    Cheers

    Scottie,

I've done less than 100 miles on it so far. First impression is that it is a rocket, it climbs and descends really well. More time on it this weekend will tell me exactly what it is, but so far it has been great and fairly forgiving.

It is a posh bike for best, so racing on it is out of the question just yet!
