How do you get to the pump track in lee quarry, the only way i could figure out was down the black but as i was on my own i didnt fancy trying it.I also noticed that as you get to the top of the first climb from the car park where the singletrack red starts to the left most riders carry on is there another section i am missing.

  • Go up the climb from the parking area, at the top where you normally swing left at a board with signs on, go straight on with the horse paddock and final descent on your right. It's just up there over the crest.

Coming in from the top of the the picture, the red dash is the normal red route, follow the green dash and it's just where the red circle is.

Or, if you do the full red circuit, before you go over the small 'cattle bridge' you can hang a right and double back to the pump track instead of heading down the singletrack to the entrance...

There were plenty of other people making fools of themselves on the pumptrack, including some of the guys I was with who tried to ride it on a cyclocross bike with dropped bars etc. The main problem was the singletrack registration stand with the PA system was right next to the pump track so if you did anything silly (such as riding it on a cyclocross bike) the whole quarry got to hear about it immediately.
It's easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission.

    I've bought a new bike....ouch - result
    Can I buy a new bike?...No - no result
