Hello all
Managed my first 50+ miles last weekend up to Loch Lomond, some parts were nice but wasnt impressed with the cycle path, to much glass= 2 puntures, neds and not to mention the potholes on the roads. My next target is 66+ miles but i would like to find a route thats nice smooth tarmac, nice scenery and its reasonably quiet. I thought about driving to Balloch then cycling up past Tarbet but the only route looks like the A84 which i dont think bikes are allowed on! Does anyone know of any routes that would fit the bill? I dont mind driving to the location the getting out to cycle!!

Alternatively head north to Aberfoyle, Callander and the Trossachs.A fanatic is one who can’t change his mind and won’t change the subject - Churchill0 -
Try Renfrewshire routes - Erskine, Bishopton, Kilmacolm, Bridge of Weir, Lochwinnoch etc. Details on www.cycle-route.com or (Ayrshire) www.walkerscycling.co.uk or search through Bikely (all Scotland) on www.bikeradar.com0

There's nothing to stop you from using the A84 - but don't you mean the A82? Either way, there is nothing to stop you cycling. There is even a push button to change the traffic lights at one hairy bit on Lomondside. If you head the other way at Tarbert and climb up to the "Rest and be Thankful" you have a lot of great cycling routes to choose from. You can head back via Strachur, Dunoon, for example.0
