has anyone ridden in Europe?

I have been riding for a couple of years now and have done alot of the bigger trail centres in the UK as well as alot of DH stuff elsewhere albeit on a small scale. I've also recently been using the uplift at Cwmcarn and am loving it. I would now like to look at a possible trip to Europe!
Has anyone got any suggestions on where to go? perhaps maybe even just for a long weekend. I'm thinking the closer to the UK the better to maximise my time and this place must have an uplift service, a mixture of trails, it doesn't have to be all DH stuff, I quite fancy an epic alpine descent and prefrably will have bike hire. I ride a Cove Stiffee with a reasonbly aggresive set-up here in the UK but would prefer a full sus really.
Thanks

Portes du soleil is a very popular destination, for good reason. It's on the french/swiss border alps, and includes morzine, Les Gets, Avoriaz and Chatel.
Great place. If you like crazy, you'll love Chatel0 -
I did this event in Austria on saturday. It was awesome, but hard. The first climb was 1300 metres, straight up with no let up.
Scenery was breathtaking.
