Having a really hard time deciding which is best.
Anyone have any knowledge on which bike is better?
Will be using the bke o commute to work around a 5 mile round trip.

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks

Without looking into the specs too much my personal choice would be the Trek.

If you are only using for commuting 5 miles per day do you really need a £600+ bike?

Thanks for the reply, I'm getting the bike on the cycle to work scheme.
I was going to get the Defy 3.5 for £525. But don't know if I would be better off spending an extra £100 now rather than having to upgrade later.
Do you think I would be fine with the 3.5 and save the £100?

    Here's the specs

    Front Derailleur Shimano 2203
    Rear Derailleur Shimano 2300

Based on my pretty low mileage just commuting is it worth spending the extra £100?
Are the Sora gears worth the extra outlay.

    Cheers

    LOL

We have and I'm still deciding believe or not!
I've got rid of the old bike I had, and now and really need to purchase someting good I've been able to put a bit moe money in now, hence the decision on wheter or not I should get the Defy 3 or Trek 1.2

Or should I stick with the what I was originally going to get, the 3.5.

    Thanks for your help

Best bet is to test ride all 3 and buy the most comfortable.

I ride a 09 Trek 1.2 for a 32 mile commute a few times a week and 40/50 miles on the weekends. Works just fine - tbh any of them will do the job, normally just comes down to which color scheme floats your boat.

    Thanks for the replies.
I'm probably gonna get the TREK 1.2 as it looks the best value for money and has Shimano Tiagra Rear Derailleur.

I think this is a good choice.

When looking at Giants, Treks and Specialized, I was told (and test rides confirmed, at least from my perspective) that Treks were the "racier" of the 3 in terms of riding position, followed by Specialized and then Giant i.e. Giant were the more upright, and therefore - depending on your opinion etc etc - the more comfortable for all-day rides. So, I would recommend trying both and basing your opinion on comfort rather than spec lists.
