Not sure I'm posting this in the right forum, but I'm starting to get out riding a couple of evenings a week and think I'd be doing a little better if I had someone to ride with.

I've asked the local club but unfortunately they only cater for people who can keep up now (I definitely can't) and have some beginner rides at the end of Summer which are still run at their normal pace with the proviso that the beginners will have used the Summer getting fit enough to match pace.

Basically I'm doing shortish rides at the moment of 10-20 miles but would like to stretch that over time and thought someone to train with would help me along.

So if you live around Ulverston/Barrow area and are in a similar situation let me know.

Try asking at your local bike shops, a couple of ours do regular evening and weekend rides for all comers - and if they don't you have planted the seed of an idea . . .

Yeah I've checked out the local shops, not had any joy from them yet really and have left my number with them incase there's anyone else who asks a similar question.

I'll just keep plugging away for now. :)

Have you checked for a local CTC group? They often have rides catering for beginners. You could also check for a local campaigning group. They often have rides once a month. Neither would be too arduous or far.
