Campag Gear Skipping and high speed wobble

Hi, couple of questions:

1. I have Campag Veloce 10 speed on my Specialized Allez, it works great with the exception of the smallest cog, when I shift on to it the chain skips. I've taken the cassette off and double checked the spacers are in the right place. It has a Wiperman chain. It doesn't make any difference which of the double chain rings I'm in it still skips (not that I use smallest rings on front and back).

2. High speed wobble, I took part in a circuit race last night on my Specialized Allez. When I sprinted for the line I got a serious wobble from the front of the bike and had to slow down or lose control, any ideas on what might be causing this?

Many thanks for any help you may be able to give.

    Chain and/or cassette is worn.

Wobble - your sprinting style, unless headset is loose, or somethings cracked or broken, but that should be easy to check.

Thank you for that, but the chain and cassette are almost brand new.

I'll check the headset and work on my sprint technique.

Possible the limit screw is not quite letting the chain reach the small sprocket ? Try loosening off the limit screw a quarter of a turn.

Alternatively maybe cable tension - try screwing the barrel adjuster out a little bit to tighten the cable (think I've got that the right way round).

If it's actually sitting properly on the sprocket but still skipping then maybe the sprocket is damaged or the chain is touching something on the frame ?

it's a hard life if you don't weaken.
