Campy cassette to big?

I have a 12-27 Veolche cassette, and a short cage chorus derailluer, and the lowest three gears on my cassette are unusable. Is this because I need a 11-23 cassette?

Thanks for your help!

Nope, you just need to readjust the derailleur. Perhaps there isn't enough cable tension or you need to adjust the 'B' screw. 12-27 works fine.

When you say lowest, did you mean big or small? If you've gone to a bigger cassette i.e. larger sprockets, did you increase the length of the chain? Your problem could also be symptomatic of a bent gear hanger.

Thanks! I think I'll adjust the b-screw first, and if all else fails lengthen the chain a couple links.

Definitely don't want to pay for another cassette!

    Thanks!
