The one that you can afford is the coolest. To be honest if I had a dollar for every post on this forum claiming that this or that helmet is the coolest, I'd be a very rich man.
Most helmet advertising has some sort of claim to being the coolest. They're not anywhere near as cool(or light) as a bare head. I've owned a few in my day and can honestly say that I've never noticed any difference. It's a piece of foam with holes in it,
not a refrigerator for you head, although some come close in CLAIMING they are. Buy the best you can afford.0 -

My current helmet (Bell Volt) and my previous one (Giro Ionos) are both noticeably cooler at a decent pace than any previous helmets I've had.0

I find my Catlike Whisper Plus very chilly. (compared to my old Met Stradivarius II)
I think any pro tour race helmet is going to offer good cooling; if the riders are overheating due to then they aren't going to perform. Just get one that fits.0 -

Mine seems to be getting cooler with time.
Maybe though it's because my hair is getting thinner
I find my MET Inferno is cooler than my ancient GIro Havoc, but either way my head gets hot when I'm putting the effort in, especially up a hill.
I guess you need a certain speed to make any venting system work.
As someone has already said, you basically have a thick polystyrene cap on your head. Polystyrene being stuff they use to insulate things after all.Mike B

Check out this impressive sales guff for the Uvex FP3:
"Mikro ventilation openings additionally vent the forehead area and the inner shell made of high quality functional fibre with integrated climate regulation arrange for reliable humidity transportation"
Cavendish wears one and he's famously hot-headed.0 -
