I've got an iffy throat, slight mucus build up, abit of a cough now and again, dare not go on the bike.

If it's below the neck, you shouldn't ride but if it's above the neck you can ride but don't hammer it...

    In other words, MTFU :-D

j/k :-) hope you feel better soon

  • I had the same, started Monday. Did a 2 hour ride with intervals on Tuesday with no problems and now I just have the occasional cough, and dry throat when I wake up in the morning. As far as colds/illness go it was pretty mild.
No-one wanted to eat Patagonia Toothfish so they renamed it Chilean Sea Bass and now it's in danger of over fishing!

I find it's sort of good, I always get these at the times when I should be thinking of taking a rest, like 3 full days off the bike, like I will be doing now, but I don't unless something stops me.

    What a shocker.
  • Do you have your own time of the month where you just get a cold?

Could it be a reaction to the microwaved mars bar/turd thing you ate the other day? :)

The photograph of the microwaved Mars bar certainly made me feel ill.

I think that's how the mucus looks!

I feel like this most days through the summer due to hay fever but I'm fine when I ride.

Since I started being coached and following a proper nutrition plan, I've not been remotely ill! (Touch wood).

Marvellous for me as I was always susceptible to coughs, colds and infections!

although the less said about the infection the better...

Get some echinacea, drink twice your usual fluid intake (preferably pure water) for 2 days and you will be fine. A curry is always a good boost as well. No idea why but it works for me! :D

I heard that stopping breathing is the best cure....
  • Get well soon man. We've all been there.

Hot toddies and ibuprofen is the only thing that gets me through. And Covonia if I'm coughing up a lung. Helps if you like that licorice taste though. I do and I slurp it up every time....!! :P

Hubster, you're on here quite a lot telling us about your ailments. You've solved your own problem here, take a break before you become ill. I think you'll benefit in the long run.

You're on here a lot - maybe it's one of those computer viruses. Have you been messing with your hard drive?

When I first posted it I never intended it to be a serious post lol, I posted it because the amusing commends sometimes are interesting.

I might cycle home today and just risk it anyway, whatever I have is so mild, abit of mucus in my throat now, must be hayfever.

I'm not bothered about the way I look in cycling kit, we all look like weirdos apparently.

I'm going for a short ride today, I'm sure I'll know if I have a cold by tomoz then.
