What Race Face system? ISIS, X Type? Should say on the crank hopefully.

Will nned a crank extractor anyhow I reckon, for ISIS or Octalink axles.

or you put the bolt and ring back in as they are self extracting and there are NO crank pullers to fit.

He must have lost the extractor ring then.

That'll be external, you should have a self extracting crank bolt in there, the driveside arm should just fall off and then you pull the non-driveside through. There will be two allen sizes in the bolt, 8mm and 10mm i do believe, put the bolt back in the way you took it out and undo it with the smaller allen key size in there, that should push the arm off. This is of course providing you have the raceface self extracting bolt, i think all raceface external chainsets come with them, mine did.

no there is just one bolt and when taken out the in side of the arm is
threaded so i think i must need the crank extractor tool.

    thanks for all the help

It depends on the year, the 08 modles did not come with the self extractor and requires a crank puller

Well it's definitely external, so yeah you'll need a crank puller by the sounds of it. Even cheaper, just buy the self extracting bolt, they're about a fiver off chain reaction and will save you a lot of hassle in the long run.

just looked on chain reaction, the bolt and cap is £15, the crank extractor is £10, though you may only need the cap, which is a fiver.
