Anyone encounter any of these bad boys on their bike commute?

The roads aren't dangerous. The way idiots drive along them is.

Never actually commuted on any of them, but I know the Derbyshire roads pretty well, and I've driven along that section of the A61(I put a lot of effort into avoiding it by bike)

Some strange results. Here's the pdf maps of the regions for those interested.

In my region, the A19 between Newcastle and Middlesbrough is considered safe, yet I personally know 2 people who were killed on the A19 in the last 10 years and there's always loads of accidents.

the A69 has a low-medium rating yet it scares the hell out of me on the single lane sections where other drivers try and overtake you, tail-gate and do the most stupid things to save themselves 10 seconds on a journey.

It`s not a commute but i go on the A581 Rufford to Chorley occasionally so it`s not good to see it on the list. It seems ok for cycling to me, hopefully it`s just cars losing control on the sharp bends.

The A69 was the most dangerous road on the list a couple of years back. I think they've gone some way towards improving it.
