How to get eBay bike delivered

I have just bought this £27 mixte frame steel bike as a commuter on eBay:

It's a bargain and a thing of beauty, obviously. But the courier has just quoted me £65 to get this to central London. Can anyone suggest a cheaper way of getting it down here? It does not need any packaging/ protection.
I thought you could post bikes for around £20?

When you say "just bought" why does it say over 90 days old?My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

Cheapest way is probably to ride it back. Maybe the quickest too - only that may not matter if it took you over 90 days to think about getting it home!
If the seller is willing to remove the wheels (maybe stem/bars too) and pack them separately (and safely) one of the companies offering parcel collection (parcel2go for example) would likely charge less for the two parcels than one big one that exceeds their limit on dimensions.0 -

Don't know what's happening here: it says sale date June 28 when i open it, but I have to log on to eBay to see it now.0 -

There is a postage facility on Ebay - should cost about £11 they collect and deliver but seller has to package and arrange.I don't do smileys.

Looks like a nice bike. Nice trip up to Penmaenmawr/ Conwy in the summertime by train and ride back?
Once I have put on a flat bar, my Brooks saddle, re-packed the wheel bearings and put 11 bearings into each side of the BB - because I bet it will only have 9 or so - then it might be ready to do my six mile each way commute. Oh, and swapped the double chain ring for my single.
But you are right: shoving it on a train might be the better idea. Or, righting it off as I have already paid for it and buying another one closer to home. Like this one for example:

Or this one, even. Though a bit smaller.
Not sure about the Raleigh. Not a clear picture but the BB shell looks damaged.
Great how the seller of the 20" Carlton thinks that the Reynolds sticker is the frame builder's label! Worksop isn't Birmingham!0 -
I bought my good lady wife a bike via ebay. Seller agreed to get it boxed up (free box from local LBS) and ship via Parcel Force. Cost £28 from Southampton to North Yorkshire.Trek Madone 5.9

Price is £10.99 for a package up to 30kg, special rate for Ebay users. I have posted a whole bike with no problem. They collect the package and deliver it. Easy and cheap.I don't do smileys.

I have actually put it out to tender on this site and someone will do it for £40, which is probably the minimum. I will post a review if I use.0 -
