I've just got a Cervélo R3 -09. It's equipped with Dura-Ace 7800 -09 (except cassette+chain).

I want to replacing the following:
  • Stem (3T ARX-PRO)
  • Handlebar (PRO Plt)
  • Saddle post (PRO Plt)
  • Saddle (Selle Italia SLR Team Ed -> Specialized BG Toupe)
  • Wheels (Easton Circuit)
  • Tires (Vittoria Rubino Pro Slick -> Continental GP 4000S)
  • Cassette (SRAM Force/Rival -> Dura-Ace 7800 12-27/12-25)
  • Chain (SRAM Force/Rival -> Dura-Ace 7800)
I already own a good saddle and great tires, but I don't exactly know what to upgrade the other components to. Of course it's another dream to ride on Zipp wheels, but I want to be realistic.

I'm riding my bike for training, fun and the ocassional race.

I'm willing to spend some mo[/list]ney on this, but I want value for money :) I know 3T makes good stuff, but so do Pro, Ritchey, Scud etc.

Questions:
  • What are your thoughts on the above and what components would you suggest?
  • Are the Eason Circuit wheels enough for training as reviews suggest?
  • What components do you currently use with your (high-end) bike (not necessary Cervélo R3)?
Thanks!

    3T make great stuff. So, Ergonova bar (Ergosum also worth considering). Match it with the Arx pro stem.

    Why do you want to replace them ?
    Apart from maybe the wheels and tyres - you wont notice any difference really.

    I was talking to one of the riders on sunday at the "National Road Championships" who rides a R3 and he pointed out to me that the paint flakes off after time around the bottom bracket area - he mentioned that you can send the frame back to cervelo and have it re-sprayed for free..... I only asked him this because I'm interested in getting a R3 later on - but he gave me some advice that if im interested in the R3 maybe look at the S2 frame as well.

    First off - Easton EA90 SLX wheels shod with the Conti 4000S

    The other bits can wait but...
    Maybe the matching EC90 SLX carbon bars and EC90 stem to eliminate road buzz?

    Thanks for all the replies!

    I've decided for now I'll just replace the cassette and chain with Dura-Ace 7800 ones and use the R3 with my Specialized saddle and Conti GP4000S tires.

    Next major upgrade is the wheelset - if you've got any suggestion on a nice wheelset then I'm listening :D Price range 400-650$ and it would be nice with aero spokes ;)

    Cheers!
