Pity it's a cr@p circuit, all glitz, no taste and no soul at all.

Might be better to bike around.

actually I have seen many events there - great as a spectator, great in floodlights, and infinately better than Valencia or Singapore

Just one of Bernies attempts to introduce new money into F1 and it's not just me that see's it as a vacuous souless grand prix venue.

Felt, I tried to tell you about this weeks ago!

Get on the Facebook group Cycle Safe Dubai, and you will be notified of the events.

We have the same in Dubai on a Wednesday night (tonight!), but at least we get floodlighting :P

Apparently Yas want 20K USD per hour to run the lights, and they are all or nothing...

We get to use the 2.5km club circuit with average-ish lighting, where you still really need bike lights, although the bl**dy stealth ninja's don't seem to realise this...

I have actually done floodlight (car) track days at the Autodrome and it was a completely different feeling to the more normal Friday morning ones - and a lot of fun.

There is a 92km closed road sportive (or race!) planned for December 10th in Dubai, so get yourself registered

I agree about the circuit though (for F1), I went for the race last season and it was as dull as a stick. However the organisation was top notch, with very easy access in and out of the circuit and little traffic (although the grandstands were full...). Spoiled by only one beer tent for two grandstands though, which was full to capacity by 11AM! Compare the excitement that was Melbourne (a more natural circuit) than anything designed by Hermann Tilke....
