£250 to spend what u recommend???

Hi Guys

Im looking to get my self a Mountain Bike for the road and a bit of off roading. Ive got £250 to spend so what do u guys recommend i dont mind second hand so what can i get for £250

    new, carrera vulcan, i think the v spec is just within your price range.
    used, more difficult, just depends whats about.

    I've got a Decathlon Rockrider 5.2 which I'm very happy with. Nice bike for the cash. Mine cost £206 ish delivered. (It's £199.99 on their website for the bike). I needed to attach the pedals and tighten the handlebars and that was it.

    A very capable bike for the money.

    The Decathlons and Vulcans are far better than the basic hardrock though.

    I was looking at a similar sort of thing for over winter, the lower priced Giant caught my eye, the older 24speed Boulder, rincon and yukon all look alright, though I would put some rigid forks on them.
