Hello
Bike is a 2009 Roubaix Elite Compact i bought in December,
Rear tyre is a Specialized Roubaix Pro, 700x23/25c, aramid bead, and has done about 200miles.
Run them at about 120, and the road i have been riding has recently been resurface so is like Silverstone at the moment,
I rode home last night and didnt notice anything with the bike, but went to get it tonight and found the rear flat.
On closer inspection the casing of the tyre appears to have split along the seam in the rubber, as the inner lining is intact, and it must have pinched the tube to result in a slow flat i didnt notice on the short ride last night.
Showed it to a friend who is a racer and he felt it was a tyre failure, any thoughts?
Should i look for a replacement under warranty or just buy a new tyre tommorow?

if something caused you to skid the rear a stone might have done it.0

Could be a failure I guess but the shop could easily argue it looks like a cut from road debris, I guess worth a try to see if you get a replacement free but I wouldn't make a big deal of it if they don't...0

The shop replaced it, so that was cool.
Rode into town and a woman in an Audi pulled out from a junction, I braked hard on the front, and BANG, my front tyre exploded.
Woman in Audi braked hard thinking id ran into her and stopped in main st, as I limped to road side.
Same thing almost exactly lol
I went and paid for a new front this time.www.cree-cottage.co.uk

Similar thing happened to one of the lads in our group recently with those tyres. We were stopped while someone else replaced an inner tube when the tube in his front tyre exploded suddenly and blew a hole clean through the tread of a specialised 700 x 25 roubaix tyre.O na bawn i fel LA0

It's not a chance it's the other way round is it ?
- tyre carcass fails, plies are exposed inside the tyre, puncture the tube0
