as wheels seem to be the best spent upgrade on a bike;
should i A) buy a £1500 bike or B) buy a £1000 +500 wheels? (and what i can get for the other pair)
i know this may seem a simple but so do i....

    You've got it all wrong.

    You should spend most of budget on getting the best frame you can. Then look at the wheels. Groupset and finishing kit come way down the pecking order. A very good frame with cheap components will ride better than a cheap frame with an expensive groupset.

    +1 = frame then wheels then components!

    I did it the wrong way round and ended up with Campag Record and some fantastic carbon bits on a bike that still felt crappy - got a decent frame (same components) and the bike felt soooooo much better!

    I'm just now going to get my second set of nice wheels Cosmic Carbone SLRs to replace Racing Zeros.

    I was sorely tempted to get another frame though (Orca) :)

    Frame first.
