The Queen Eleanor Cycle Ride is a group event taking place on the August bank holiday weekend - from Friday 27th to Monday 30th August.

The event's goal is to raise money for the Connection at St Martin's, a charity which helps homeless people and which is based near Trafalgar Square in London.

The route runs from Harby (near Lincoln) to Westminster Abbey in London, taking riders through 210 miles of beautiful English countryside in about 3½ days. Food and accommodation will be provided for cyclists en route, and a van will be available to transport cyclists' luggage.

Cyclists will ride in small groups according to ability and motivation, and riders of all ages and ability are welcome - just so long as you think you can make the full 210 miles!

This is the second time this event has run. The 2008 ride was a fantastic success and everyone had a really great time. This is a superb way to spend a long weekend and to do something really worthwhile at the same time.

Registration is just £100 (or only £85 for those who register before 1st July 2010) and that covers almost all of your food and accommodation for the four days. We would then ask all registered cyclists to raise a minimum of £300 in sponsorship.
