Hey guys, new please be nice :D

i currently have a giant boulder its ok but its time to upgrade to a proper bike! i currently ride 25 miles every day at least and often do 33 miles at the week end, the riding i do is around our local resivoir so nothing major. most of the tracks are gravel or sort of bumpy crushed rock with ocational big ones here and there. the local bike shop is right there and i have been talking to the guys in there for some help on my buy but though you guys might be able to really help me a little more.

here are my options:
buy an ex-rental bike, mostly giant, specialised and acouple oranges and others, i tryed a giant XTC 1, really nice £780 exdemo but its too racey for me :( they have some oranges too a R8 pro and a P7 Pro too they are nice but just over my budget limit, i will have to pay for them in september and i will only have £800 to spend by them so they are a little too much £1050 for the P7 Pro £1150 for the R8 Pro

the next option is buy new and then i can spend more therefore i could if i wanted get the orange but it would be new and would be £1500 instead of £1050. the shop has alsorts of other brands too trek giant specilized whyte orange etc.

i am not racing (yet) and i need a bike that will last me for years to come, so i need somthing that i can throw anything and everything at i want to start XC racing but im only 16 and the time will come over the next year or so

please help me out should i even bother buying a £1000+ bike? i would really like an orange P7 Pro but is it a little OTT? would i be just as good at getting say a rockhopper sub £1000?

all comments critisism and help welcome im sure you guys can help me just as much if not more than the shop can

sorry for the really really really long ramble
