Just wanted to recommend the Bell full finger gloves from Asda. Value for money wise they are the best piece of bike gear I've bought.
£7 a pair very comfortable and well made.
My first pair lasted a year and the second pair are just as good.
When I looked round for a new pair of gloves nothing under £30 looked or felt any better.

I agree - I have had the fingerless ones for about a year and can't fault them.

while we're in adsa, they do a cycle computer for £10 including delivery. it's either £7 and £3 delivery or £7.... has mph/kmh and distance travelled and a few other things I find useless.

    gloves, yes, get last seasons.

Helmets are something I never cheap out on. I will try to get them cheap but I will never get a cheap helmet.
Same with gloves, I don't get cheap gloves unless I know they are good, but I do get gloves that are cheap like Royal Airs for 12 quid

I just find really cheap (like tesco/asda specials) fall apart on me and they don't fit as well as more expensive helmets.

More expensive helmets also offer more protection, especially at the back of your head. Thats why I use a pisspot, for the extra protection at the back of your head.

Other AM lids do have this as well like the Fox Flux which may be my next XC type helmet when I replace the pisspot

I have a Tesco helmet I paid £7 for and it does the job. Looks crap, but it stopped me from cracking my skull open. At the end of the day, they're all certified to the same standards. If you want a visor or something a bit more stylish, then that's your choice.

My dad uses the Tesco one as well and I admit it does the job

The more expensive ones offer more coverage though which obviously offers more protection
