Calais to Brugge?

Hi all,
Looking to do an overnight trip in France, starting at Calais. Would like to do between 80-100 miles out to somewhere pleasant for a night's stay, then return back to Calais the following day for the ferry home. Had thought of going to Brugge, but need to know if there's a nice scenic route. Don't really mind if someone out there could offer a good route somewhere else though. This trip really is about just getting out and riding on some nice French country roads, taking in a lunch somewhere pleasant, and ending up in a nice village at the end of the day with good food and accomodation available.
All proposals eagerly awaited

What, there's no-one out there with a route from Calais to anywhere pleasant? :?
Or is it a case of you all watching paint dry, sorry I mean't football. :oops:Jared0 -
Just come back from doing London to Paris. We stopped in Calais the first night, and went down to Amiens for the second night. 115 miles, but a very pleasant journey down some very lovely country lanes.

It runs down the coast to the war memorial at Etaples, and then heads in land to Amiens. The cathedral at Amiens is supposed to be worth a visit, although we arrived a bit late for that. We stopped in campanile hotels, bit like a travelodge but with food. friendly and pleasant enough places for a nights kip.
Not sure about routes to Brugge, but I would imagine that you would just head to the coast road and follow it up and along. Certainly plenty of places to stay in Brugge, and some nice eateries too. You could always carry on to get the boat from Hook of Holland to Harwich, and then cycle down from Harwich to wherever you started from. just an idea.0 -
Many thanks leehellcat, looks interesting. May well be the place for us!Jared0
