With the advent of longer contracts, 18 or 24 months. Do you have a warranty that covers you for the full length of the contract?
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

The warranty detail should be in your contract. The sale of goods act can provide protection if the product develops a fault not caused by you within an unreasonable time (the amount of time differs but for many things 12 months is standard) however as 24 month contracts only let you upgrade near the 24month mark then it could be argued that the phone companies suggest that 24months is a reasonable life for a phone.

Easiest way would be just to get them to give you a 24month warranty. Places like phones4you which fight for all custom are likely to do this. Whilst negotiating a new contract for my gf they agreed to accept my old phone as a "part-exchange" for an Iphone reducing the handset charge by £50 - not bad seening as I got my phone for £5 from tesco only a few months ago!

Turns out the warrnanty details were in the T&Cs I got when the phone was sent out but when it's printed in font size 3 with all the other T&Cs to be environmtly aware to save paper , how many people will be able to see it unless they have a magnifying glass or 20:20 vision. In the phonecalls I've made to chase up the Tech support people I've been told every 2 mins that my warranty is up.

The handset is out of warranty with the airtime provider but I have been told it is still covered by Nokia who offer a 24month warranty :D so if I get anymore issues then a visit to the local Nokia Store is in order. Today I had a call from the tech support team and all is well at the moment.

Tesco are doing 12 month contracts so when the contract is up I'll have a look at their handsets etc.
