Hi,
I have managed to completely ruin the threads on my chainset where you screw the pedals in. They are now almost smooth and do not hold the pedal. Does anyone know if this can be repaired?. If not I will have to buy a new chainset as it is on the drive side, at present I have an FSA omega triple on there, does anyone know what how easily I could swap to a shimano chainset?
Ta in advance

Google Helicoil. It's a kind of steel spring that can be inserted in situations like this when alloy threads have been stripped, most commonly on alloy cylinder heads when cross-threaded spark plugs have chewed up the threads. Don't think it's a DIY job though; an engine reconditioner might be able to do it for you0

to swap to shimano, i think the megaexo bb is (unofficially) compatible with shimano hollowtech ii cranks, so a 105 crankset could be ok (not the older octalink one)
even if it turns out to not fit, you'd just need to get a shimano bb. not a huge price
especially if you have to change bb, you'll need some tools (bb tool, plus generic ones like spanners, allen keys etc), if you don't have them might be simpler to get the lbs to fit itmy bike - faster than god's and twice as shiny0 -
