Giant Escape 4.0 v Ridgeback Comet?

I have been on the forum for the past week getting advise on different commuting bikes.
Thanks for all your advise.

I have narrowed it down (I think) to these 2. Is there much difference between the 2?

The Giant is about £50 cheaper but not sure if Ridgeback is a better spec bike as I know nothing about bike specs.

Please help me make my decision!!!

Not much in it - the Ridgeback gets a better gearset.

I would say better deals available at EB coop and Halfords.
